The Elephant Tiger and the Cellphone

After reading the previous book I was pretty much waiting to get my hands on this one. This book start with the story of a lazy elephant ignored by everyone start transforming to a tiger. He regains his lost glory and becomes an attraction at the zoo.

The book pretty much is on the same lines as that of India from midnight to Millennium except that this one are more like a collection of separate articles. Shashi Thatoor gives his views on different aspects of India. There were some repetitions from his previous book.

The author has a section dedicated to Indians who made India. He picks out people from history and describes their effort. It's interesting to see his picks but all of these people were the successful ones in the society. It would have been great to see some common man stories other than his dad.

Was the author trying to draw an analogy between the elephant and India??? Well thinking of it that way it's an interesting path of discovery of India by Indians and I hope we will be a great tiger :-)

For me the book sounded repetitive maybe I should take a break from Shashi Taroor's books for now. Well tomorrow the election results should be out and we should know how he's done. Though personally i think he will win and maybe even appointed as a cabinet if Congress forms the Govmt.
