Disconnected.....

From being 'hyper' connected in Twitter (as per their website) to suddenly being disconnected is a unique feeling. It brings back mixed feelings and memories of childhood when all this connectivity was not even thought of.

In my memory the best thing at home was playing a game... antakshari, carroms, cricket on street... wah! those days. The days without internet while reading books, i did some embroidery, did some physical activity apart from just hooked onto the computer :). The days without a cell phone when I said good bye to my friends just before summer vacation and then spoke to them only when the school reopened. The gossip, the discussion, the stories to share :) Oh! the first composition every time in English class to describe your summer vacation ... and I tell you I hated that one.

So now here we sat staring at the walls cut out from the world with snow falling outside the window. There seemed to be an awkward silence missing the phone rings, the TV, the sound of someone sending an IM.

Well it was early in March and just moved my apartment to a brand new one :). Excited about the new apartment with the view of the NY skyline. (I tell you it felt like in heaven. )T he internet and TV were planned to arrive the same day and suddenly the internet was gone (the DSL dint work!). We were deprived of TV since 'dish' was not allowed in my apartment complex. (There went all my dreams of free HBO and Cinemax for first 6 months while my roomy moaned missing Sony, Star and Zee). So we were off TV and internet and to top it all our cell phones would not work in this apartment... wow!

It took me a week to get my apmt hooked on and now being 'hyper' connected feels like the new "normal". Isn't that a tragedy??!!!
