This year I had not seen a single Hindi movie in the theater. Sad but true and so finally I was really excited to watch Kambakht Ishq. Well to keep it short... I choose Akshay Kumar over John Abraham and it din't work out very well!
Anyway so the next movie I have been looking forward to for sometime now was Love AajKal and the songs of this movie has been pretty much on my play list for the last one month. Quick witted, funny and stylish the movie comes out a little bit of a surprize. Saif and Deepika have never been seen together so there is an element of freshness. The story line is simple of a very normal couple who break up to realize they are in love. Kind of predictable with no particular twists, yet at no point do you feel like walking off. You tend to like the couples and want to see the story.
Except for the last 45 mins of melodrama (without which it would not be a Bollywood movie) its very enjoyable to watch. Saif Ali Khan has done a good job in both the roles. The contemporary Saif is on the lines of Kal Ho Na Ho and Salaam Namaste - cool dude! The second character that Saif plays is that of younger Rishi Kapoor who is narrating his story. In this role Saif has done a good job as a young Sikh guy who decides to marry Harleen not only in this life but in all of the next lives :)
Harleen (Gisele Monteiro) suited her timid role until she had to dance in a song. Then the cat was out of the bag since she had not expression, dancing or acting. Unfortunately, she was a complete let down.
Over all its fun to watch and walk out smiling.
